Guest Academy Program

For students in Academic Years 7 to 10, our Guest Academy Program offers an intensive training experience during a week-long visit to the Academy each term of the Queensland state school year.

Guest Academy Program

#A World-class Training Opportunity for Ballet Students Residing Outside the Brisbane Metropolitan Area

The Guest Academy Program is designed to allow students residing outside of the Brisbane Metropolitan Area to access training opportunities with the Academy. Participants in this program enjoy professional training with Queensland Ballet Academy's world-class faculty focused on the main subjects offered in our Lower and Upper School Program

Each visit offers the opportunity to observe classes and rehearsals with our full-time dancers and, where possible, with the Company. Additionally, a wellbeing session is offered to students, promoting a holistic approach to the development of young dancers.

To honour their participation, Guest Academy Program students also receive discounted rates to holiday programs and other events held by the Academy throughout the year.

The Guest Academy Program is open to advanced ballet students who reside outside of the Brisbane Metropolitan Area. These areas may include the wider South East Queensland (Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Scenic Rim), intrastate, interstate, or international locations.

Students in Academic Years 7 to 10 are welcome to apply for this program during the annual audition season. Selected students will follow the same curriculum as our Lower and Upper School students (Levels 6 to 3) and are required to attend the Academy for a week-long visit each term of the Queensland state school year.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
